questions

how do i convert a bank statement pdf to excel?

drop the statement pdf here, enter its password if it has one, keep excel selected and press convert to spreadsheet. you get an .xlsx with every transaction and a summary sheet.

which banks does it work with?

any bank whose statement pdf has text in it (not a scan) and a transactions table with headings like date, narration or description, withdrawal or debit, deposit or credit, and balance — sbi, hdfc, icici, axis, kotak, yes bank, pnb, bank of baroda and most others.

my statement pdf has a password. will it work?

yes — type the password in the password box. indian banks often use part of your name and your date of birth; it's in the email the statement came with. the password is only used to open the file and is never saved.

how do i know the numbers are right?

every balance is checked: it should be the balance before it, less the withdrawal, plus the deposit. the summary says whether they all add up, and any row that doesn't is highlighted so you can check it against the pdf.

does it work with scanned statements?

not yet — a scanned statement is a picture with no text to read. download the statement from your bank's website or app instead; those pdfs have real text.

is it safe to upload my bank statement?

your pdfs are read in memory and never saved to disk, and the password isn't stored or logged. the spreadsheet made from them is deleted automatically about an hour later.
